What would be a better way of making money, in your opinion?

Building up a site for a short period of time, then quickly selling it (aka website flipping) for as much cash possible

    OR

Building up a site for long period of time to make a passive income from it (aka building long-term sites).

If I were you I would go for both ways. If I have to choose only one, I would go with website flipping. I do like the Long-Terms site way personally but website flipping could make you more money with a shorter period if you know the right way.

Nothing can ever long lasting forever and the internet is fallen into this matter too. :) The value of long-term sites can be diluted to zero if online business has fallen in the future somehow, but website flipping is the value you can sell for $ today.

I would you suggest you do both. Here's an example:

Launch 10 sites with your own cash and get them ranked. Flip one or two of them for some bucks and use the profit to launch more and repeat and repeat and repeat.....

Do both. monitor your sites traffic, earnings and decide which one to keep. The fact that it's very time-consuming to keep and maintain all blogs therefore you should consider flip some.

Why not do both. It has success potentials. Just monitor your output and adjust along the way.

I Prefer long term websites, at least with these any new sites you build you can link from your old site and have a decent link!

I tend to go with the latter. Flipping is never my main source of income, just a quick way to make money when in need.

My vote would go for the long term websites,i like to start new sites at very little cost and then build them to keep but as far as i can gather people can make a very nice income by flipping sites.

I think both methods are good.

it depends on the individual circumstances. If cash is short and you need a quick return flipping is the way to go.

Keep in mind that they are 2 different business models. You've gotten good advice here. If you don't need the immediate cash, always try to build your sites up so that they are bringing a small amount of income every day so that you're not just trading site-building time for $$. You can usually get most sites up to $1 a day or so within a month. Keep the out-performers and sell off the rest for 10-12 months possible earnings. An excellent business model imo.

Long term is my choice. Give me little / constant cash for one site. I will increase amount of my site.

I prefer building long term sites. It is not easy to build sites with steady income fast, you need 2-3 months at least.

It depends on what you want to do, or your financial needs, me I wouldn't mind doing both. I could sell websites for quick cash for times when I needed to get money fast; and hold on to other websites for a steady stream of money, passive income.
