How to Make Sure Your Craigslist Ads Won’t Get Flagged

Craigslist users can flag an Ad that looks like a spam or something that can pose a hazard to other Craigslist subscribers and once flagged, that Ad will be deleted. Flagging an ad, however, may also be done by a competitor so as to kill your Ad's chances of being visible to others.
Here are some suggestions to avoid your Ad from being deleted because of a mistaken flagging:
    1. Make sure your Ad is in the right category.
    2. Write your Ad to make it relevant to the category and its theme.
    3. If you're posting on other categories, aside from the Services category where commercial ads are allowed, try to make your Ads look more natural.
    4. You can make your Ad stand out by using a title that attracts attention and is connected to the Ad body.
If your Ad ever gets flagged, don't worry. Flagged ads are connected with your posts only and not with your account itself. So then, you can repost your Ad under a different category, but remember not to make the same mistake all over.

Flagging is not connected with the CL accounts, but with the content of the Advertisement and Title of Ad. If you post similar Ads using different CL accounts, you can still get your Ads flagged by CL community or your competitors.

Also make sure you re-write everything you post. They ban ads that are the exact same, from my experience

''ghosting'' of Ads is done by Craigslist and it is a different measure in order to reduce spam. Flagging and ghosting must not be mixed.

I get flagged many times on craigslist it's sad that people have the time to go around flagging others because they want to post a similar ad.

Thanks, always good to hear some advice. I hate it when I get flagged for no reason.

I have heard about the flagging software. Not sure, is it for real and who can benefit from it, but obviously flagging is one of the dirty measures used by competitors

If you follow the rules of CL about posting ads, which is not very hard to do so most likely you will find out soon that a lot of times your competition are the ones who flag your ads and not CL community.
This is one thing that I personally don't like about CL. Basically everyone can flag your ads. Try to offer a service or a product cheaper than the competition and you for sure can expect to get flagged.
There are more productive Free Classifieds sites out there than CL.

    Cheers
