New paypal policies is almost making us stop our business. Calling all Indian freelancers and paypal users to decide on this issue and meet the concerned department in masses.

If we are united and let this problem a big issue, we can get this resolved for ever.

We have to fight Indian regulations.

All Indian freelancers, Paypal users, its the time to make a fight.

    Let us make a group,
    make a plan,
    meet at a place,
    meet the people of RBI,
    explain them our concerns,
    and solve the issue.

Just decide the date and start this motion.

If we are calm we have to look for daily jobs, there is huge scope for freelancers as we earn unlimited money. To stop any disturbances from idiotic regulations we must be united and contact RBI in mass with a lawyer. Explain them our concerns, show them how legal and pure our business is, how we work hard to get $$$.

Let them make regulations but not so childish.

Money should be withdrawan within 30 days from earning.

Not to pay to others. WOW its like you are stopping a child from eating icecream

Thanks OP for starting this thread.

    Action items:

    1. Prepare a draft for online petition to RBI letting them know about our concerns and requesting rollback of the latest clauses which prevent facility to make payments using online payment getways like paypal and widrawal of money within 30 days. Any takers here ?

    2. Put the draft here for suggestions/critic/inputs from other for a period of 1 week and finalize the petition draft.

    3. Create online petition addressed to RBI India using PetitionOnline.com

    4. Get MAXIMUM amount of webmasters sign that petition in 2 weeks timeframe.

    5. Finalize a team of cool-headed members from here who can hand over the digitally signed online petition to the concerned officials at RBI headquarters in Mumbai.

    6. Hope for the best and prepare to fight against unjust policies which do not take into account concerns of the Indian Freelancing community.

I’d appeal to all affected members to refrain from making unrelated posts which will not help moving towards actual solution through actionable items.

I’d also appeal to all affected members to dig into their resources, be it the politicians/beurocrats in Delhi, journalists in print / electronic media, contacts at RBI, etc to gain insights into what is really going on and post the updates here.

Not sure about the place, but we people should be atleast 200.

Secondly, i think the head quarters of RBI is in Mumbai. So, from mumbai alone we can expect 50.

    I am from Hyderabad.

How many coming from hyderabad, just post your comments here. Lets make sure that we are in contact with RBI in next 10 days.

Guys, is this new rule only if you receive money through export of goods or is it even for instant transfer / mass payments.

The rule to transfer within 30 days. Now I really think that there will be no more personal accounts from May 01 onwards.

Personal verified accounts have a limit of $2500 per month and premier / business accounts have unlimited transfer of funds
Now, if there are personal accounts, and if I earn more than $3000 in a month, then I can't transfer the entire amount within 30 days, so
I need a premier account to transfer complete funds.

Also, now we have to pay fees for everything.
    - Fees for receiving funds
    - Fees for transferring funds
    - Taxes by the Govt
    - Remittance, donations and other misc fees (in the making)... seems it will be introduced soon.

So Paypal is actually digging its own grave. Because within no time, Google and AP will come up with something more stronger than paypal in India and Paypal will then realize that for them "All's well does not really end well"

Media will not do anything about it. Refresh your mind when the problem started in Feb and the media made no sense of it. I think this year 2010 is bad bad bad. and it should be named as the "The Great Paypal and RBI f*%%#^ Indians year"

I think as a first action we all need to contact paypal to work out something with Indian regulators to be more flexible on the two new policies at least.I do the next step (not quiet sure which it is) and not just sit down and take paypal and indian regulators bit*hing.I do agree we need to follow rules and regulations but the new policies just seem unreasonable.

1.The 30 days policy is quiet ridiculous and not quiet practical , & you also loose more Fees while transferring amount so often, not all get big payment, lot of the get smaller amounts at a time.
    2. the received amount cannot be reused for making purchases is really bad too.
