Situation: I submit 1 article with a link to my site on 40 free blog hosting sites. I know Google will not index all 40 pages BUT will it: a) value all 40 links b) value 1 link c) value 1 link and value the other links less d) value all links it indexes the same e) other - please give your opinion
I think google will panalize your website with this type of strategy, same content on 40 different website is not good for your website when you are getting backlinks with this.
It would be harmful for your site, if google notice your that activity than your site could be penalize.
I don't think there are clear answers on a lot of this stuff. In my opinion, it will see all of the links from all of the directories. As long as the content is original and is not found on hundreds of generic websites out there it will not treat it as duplicate/share content. As far as the value of each, that is a tricky question. I'm not sure how to answer that. I think it has something to do with the home page PR of the article directory and that kind of stuff.
As we all know that Google has said that they do not penalize for duplicate content but they only penalize when lots of backlinks are coming from same content. So submitting same content to only 5 different article directories sounds to be the good option or we can use same content but changing the signature in the end of the article can be a good idea.
I don't think you'll get penalized but not all your articles will get indexed. not too knowledgeable on this topic =/
So, is the conclusion: Submitting 1 article to 5 article directories would have the same SEO boost (or more) than submitting the same one to 100 article directories?
In my own experiences, Google would pick up all links if it could find them. It would not have negative impacts on your SEO efforts if only those 40 links are from decent sources though some spinnings for your articles are highly recommended. Have a nice day,
From my understanding, it won't hurt your SEO too much. It would be like having lots of drug dealers say nice things about you- They aren't exactly 'worth' a lot, but it's better than nothing. Well, poor metaphor. It would be better to have some non-duplicate content in there, anyways.
