    Hi there,

    I am running BP here, www.waapsols.com .
    It's working fine.

Now I have a requirement wherein I would be needing to place a custom designed page at the homepage for my site (www.waapsols.com) ..

For example, the homepage will be called say index.html and will have a custom design like an introduction or something.

Is it possible to keep that page(index.html) as my index page for the site? I don't want to move the installation as that would mean changing of links and loosing users!!!

What you want to do is the same as if you wanted to do it on a Single user WP site w/o Buddpress.
All you need to do is to design the page as you wish and select it as your Home page in your options.

You don't have to edit your index.php file to do that.

Some mods that you may want to make is to create a page template without sidebars, or some other type of customizations. You can get the full run down on how to do that from Wordpress:http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages

As long as you have your header ( with the menu) and footer in place, you can basically do what ever you want in the middle.
