    One thing everybody here seems to of missed is 'guest posting' Write a decent 600-1000 blog post about your niche (use your value) and email it to some 'semi-popular' blogs in your niche. Chances are if the blog owner likes it they will post it and give you in context links to your site. Although the link is good for SEO the main benefit here is that you are getting targeted traffic from another blog in the same niche. That blogger may even write a post for your site and tell their subscribers to go to your site and read it!

    Well only way to promote your blog is to post 1,2 or 3 articles on your website on daily basis and bookmark on different bookmarking wesites and get strong backlinks for your blog. I am doin same practice and I am getting good results

    I think you need to do commenting on related blogs. You'll get visitors from a related site and a backlink as well.
    Submission to the best (blog) directories is also a good idea, and forum signatures can bring some visitors, too.
