Well i have experience with istockphoto's and gettyimages. It al depends for what you're going to use it. The big difference between istockphotos and getty images is $$$$$$$ . If you're looking for good basic pictures for example to place on a website...then you can get them for a dollar on istock. But for a really good picture on Getty in descent quality you will pay sometimes a several 100 $ ... So it's a major price difference... So take a look at your budget first !

Actually I'm looking for website design usage. Just use 1280px x 1280px maximum. No need a big resolution.

You can get stock photographs from Deviant art and take the permission of the artist to use it commercially.

123rf, as mentioned, is a bit less expensive than istockphoto but doesn't have quite the selection. I go to 123rf first and then istockphoto if I can't find what I'm looking for on 123rf.

Free stock photos can hardly satisfy the need of yours. It's better to consult with an web designer who has a stock of great photos and who will design your site with those photos.
