That sounds unlikely, considering backlinks take time to be recognised by google, a new domain probably wouldn't get a look in, it takes time, im not sure if some of the other people replying too in this thread have actually experienced what they say, i think they are reading the thread, copying what they read purely for the sake of posting in the thread.

You can see right through some of the replies.

Not true, I made a thread about my new blog on the last update on how it got a PR1 and how it was index just by linking to a few web directories I own. Also just to prove it again I purchase a new domain in March 9th and was index in a matter of hours and got a PR1 in just a little over two weeks, same methods I use, though this one I link sitewide.

Way to go Brian, here's that new domain I was talking about that was registered in March 9th 2010 just to show proof ( yippyhost.com). Just to note: Yippyhost was index within a couple of hours (no shit).
And this one (eyeonoahu.com) was actually registered in...August of 2009? but it was not developed until mid-December of 2009 and that's when the backlink was started, got a PR1 in late December's PR update, now a PR2.

Can I suggest a mod give double infractions for all those who posted in this thread about a site that in NOT a directory. Is it not time there should be an IQ test before you can post at digitalpoint?

I never pay attention to PR these days but this thread and everyone's posts about increasing ranked did interest me. Had three PR 4 directories retain their previous ranking. And had about 12 other PR 3 directories increase to PR 4. All of these directories are at least 4 years old and, for most of them, I did nothing really to warrant a PR gain. So it appears that Google may be giving out PR increases a bit more freely than they have in the past couple of years.

Edit: I also noticed yesterday that a few of my directories also contain site links now in Google. Not sure if that had anything to do with the PR update.

Exactly. I haven't done much promotion for my web directories lately but still got my PR back there.

Its really tough to understand google's algorithm :/

Very impressive proves quality counts, not aways about mass listings. How longs does it take to get upto PR5 for this type of site please.
