Page Rank updation has been delayed by Google

Discussion in 'Google' started by markspenser, Mar 31, 2010.

    Hello All,

Since last many time, I've been observing that Google Page Rank updation process happens at every 3 months. Last PR updation was on 31st December 2009 so it was expected to be next updation in March ending but I didn't see anything.

It may possible that Google has delayed PR updation process this time or Some major updations are going on within Google PR Algorithm. Does anyone have idea about when would be next PR updation as well as what would be the major updations in PR Algorithm? ( I guess best answers we can expect from only two people. Guess who are they?) :)

    Cheers!!!

They update PR internally every day! SO the next PR update is tomorrow. What they give us every 3-4 months is nothing more than a useless historical snapshot of that internal PR that has already been factored into the rankings. The internal PR has already changed by the time it shows up in the toolbar

I think there should be some major infractions for those who start all these useless PR update threads.

I also bet that people use threads like this to run up their post counts too... Get yet another backlink with their signature link , ho hum... But as others have said PR makes next to no difference unless you are selling links , traffic is key.. And of course G will do what they want in their own sweet time..

No but Google itself knows exactly the date of PR update.

First, it not a guaranteed time of 3 months. Google does it whenever they feel like doing it. And updation for every single page does happen everyday 24 hours. After approx. every 3 months they just total up the sum of all the pages updation done everyday and allot in the green bar (toolbar) section. This also includes the homepage of all the sites.

So I personally think that we should not concentrate on the PR update so much. First day of a new month and we already got a thread with the same topic .... hehehe :D

So we should just have to wait more. No problem. Maybe we shouldn't post anything more about the update unless someone sees an update in his site and post a thread here title
    "PR Update April 2010" :)

Yes and I am sure that post might come soon. :)
Infact there were couple of posts from some newbies from last two days about their site being updated, but they seemed to be misguided ones ;)

If I were Google, I would pull a prank on everyone for April Fools by giving a bunch of really crappy sites a high page ranking and a bunch of really great sites a pagerank 0. Oh wait, they already do that.
