Which method of payments is preferred in India when you buy online from a USA firm?

As a USA firm, which sells internationally, we are wanting to know how people in India prefer to purchase from us.

    We sell services and products.

PayPal, or specifically which other payment methods, and why?

Please help us understand your needs.

    Thank you!

Have the problems with PayPal in India been resolved at this time?

We had been under the impression that payapl was problematic for Indians.

Everything will be a problematic if you don't follow the rules. So samething with paypal.
If you follow the rules and do the business legally, you will not have any problem with PayPal.

So may we conclude that the majority of Indians prefer to use PayPal over any other method(s) to buy and sell services and products?

Are there other methods which are common and accepted, also?

Other methods are there but they are not as widely used as PayPal. also they charge a lot of fees.
Below are the other methods which you can take a look:
    1. Moneybookers
    2. 2CO
    3. Google checkout
    4. Plimus
    5. CCAvenue
    6. Billdesk

Well PayPal is best and effective payment processor so far for Indian users for both buying and selling.

    Thanks

This point might be worth noting.

EBay India does not seem to have PayPal listed as a payment method.

    http://pages.ebay.in/help/pay/methods.html

PayPal would be your ideal payment processor if you are targetting webmasters- not too sure about the rest.

there are only 40% people who are using Paypal in buying from shopping portals. Even numbers of people do't know about PP. Credit card is best way.

And if you check Indian shopping portals, then you will find that there is no options for buying through PP.

That is an interesting observation. Thank you.

We conclude that most Indians just use MasterCard or Visa for online purchases; and only maybe 20-40% at most use PayPal to make purchases.
