I'm just wondering, since I'm sure almost anyone who has been doing affiliate programs for any period of time has at least a couple referrals. Has anyone here actually turned referrals into a significant source of your income from these programs?
I wonder about that too , I think you must have big number of referrals under you to make remarkable revenue
In my opinion, referral income can never be as high as the ones coming from your own efforts as people tend to give up on their efforts too quickly and move on! But that does not mean that there are no exceptions. Some are just plain lucky to have lot many active people referred and which contribute a sizable revenue in their pie! Regards, RightMan
I can tell you that I have thousands of referrals and earnings are not growing as you would be expecting... referrals are moving to other sites or affiliate programs are closing or changing rules so they dont have to pay referral earnings (this happened only once to me) anyway you must be very patient to make some stable income... I am doing this over 7 years and now I could quit my normal job since I make more online but this is so unstable and more hobby than work so I prefer do normal work meeting people and also this online stuff.
I have some referrals under me and they are earning good commission for me but its quite hardd to get the referrals who has website which can earn them money and also to you.
Amount of referral earnings depends on what kind of niche your are using to get the commission. Like in my case i am using forex affiliate where the competition is pretty high and the percentage of commission is relatively high in the market. So for me referral links certainly pay you back!!!
In regards to your opinion, you are highly wrong. Some of the top dollar affiliates have a high percentage of their income coming from referral money. The trick is to find an affiliate network that has a high percentage of money earned from the referred, as well as a lifetime referral promise. Then you're golden. I make several hundred dollars a month from a few hundred referrals I have on FriendFinder. I do absolutely nothing with these people or their programs, I just get checks. All it takes is ten high earners to make up for any money you could have made in that case.
Some affiliates in our programs are doing few thousands $ monthly. It depends on what do you mean by "significant source of income".
