Frankly, I don't know if it is possible to make a lot of money on Twitter. You can't see Twitter that way. In order to make money on Twitter, you have to build relationships on Twitter and in order to do that, you can't be thinking about money.

 

The reality is...you make very, very little money through Twitter.

If, IF you are able to make a sale, you would have spent so much time there trying to build it up, it would be like working for under minimum wage.

It's one of those hugely overrated things spread throughout the Internet.

 

Its really hard to do mate... try with some domains or something

 

You can make big money with Twitter by useing sponsored tweet but to get a buyer, you will have to get a lot of followers!

Then, of course, you have posters on boards and blogs either lying or assuming it to be true and they say it works "great," which adds on to the hype factor.

Funny thing is...these idiots do not even have a Twitter page.

 

Built a great network of people and then promote anything you want, By this you can even generate sale or can convert them from visitors to customer.

 

Note that so far Twitter itself doesn't know how to monetize.

 

There are lots of people on Fiverr selling mass tweets for 5 dollars a pop.

Thing is, most of them don't seem to be TARGETTED.

So, if you can build up a large Twitter following of people interested in a certain subject, you will be better able to sell tweet service on Fiverr, because you will get good feedback.

Maybe create and build 5 accounts, one for health, one for music, one for IM, etc.

If you have US followers you can make some interesting figures with that. I've been paid multiple times and it is very easy to set up.

 

You won't get many sells on twitter directly. What you need to do is get them to your website. Start actively following people in your niche. At the same time keep adding fresh content to your website and tweet about it. You should have an email optin offer for them to sign up to and then slowly and soft sell them through email. Twitter can be used to build your list but not so much for hard selling.

 

Agree, you should focus on followers.
Here's one way of getting followers: Try Mr Tweet at www.mrtweet.net. Follow Mr Tweet on Twitter and your tweets will be monitored for content and then you will get a message from "him". You then go to the site and login and you will get a list of suggested people. You will also get a list of people who are following you that you aren't following so you can then follow them if you choose.

Later on you can send offers and update your followers with info, but try to avoid direct sales or sales tweets. Your career will be shortlived if you do and people will unfollow you very quickly.

I think twitter is a good place for getting backlinks...

 

I agree with some people here... in order to make money in twitter first you need to have a lot of followers. Next is you need to have a relationship with them. Build a relationship by twitting useful twits and not just purely selling twits all the time. Then along the way you can twit some affiliate links to make a sale or make a capture page and twit that page to get people to your list and sell something from there. But direct selling from twitter just don't work. You cant make money that way thru twitter.
