You should get a self hosted Wordpress if you are really serious about blogging but I have seen some people doing quite good even in Blogger so I would say it totally depends on your hard work.

I like Blogger too, since I'm too lazy to learn about html and all that, plus installing Adsense is so easy.

How about using a free host to host your wordpress site? Also use a free domain. Anyone heard of god results coming from this?

Blogspot, wordpress.com are powerful and you can use to link to your main site. I'd spend the most time on a domain you own so you're building the value of your asset. Also, these sites owned by other people can shut you down for any reason so there's that danger. Tumblr is very good but also very strict so build up some credibility with posts (no links in posts) for a while before dropping some links in.

For personal blogging blogspot is best to use but you have to do professional work than self hosted wordpress is very useful.

I hate Tumblr. It's really bad one for blogging. Without links there is no meaning of blogging for professionals.
