I have setup Twitter to use with my blog, it does help alot and any bloggers out there who does not have twitter, GET ONE!! But for it to work you do need followers, if you need help getting followers, follow me, obviously i follow you back, and then just tweet this 'Heys guys RT this to help me get more followers', then i will RT(retweet) for you helping you get more followers. If this still doesn't help i have a great post on my blog on 'getting more followers on Twitter' and another one on 'getting more traffic using social networking sites' which does cover twitter. Link in sig.
Twitter is great if you use it right. You also have to get enough followers for it to be really effective. But I think the most important part that is overlooked by people is that Twitter is not about promoting your articles. It's about building relationships.
Ye you are right it is about building relationships, then again it can be used for article promoting but you shouldn't use twitter for that reason alone.

i managed to automatemy twitter with 50 tweets a day, this got me lots of followers, wondering if iwill see sale from it as well
Use Twitter to engage your customers! Twitter is a social network... so NETWORK. I mean, there is no point in gaining 15,000 followers if all you are going to do is send them spam and MLM links. Sure you might get a click here and there, but you WILL NOT develop a network that will generate leads and sales. Take a more personal approach... ask questions, ask for opinions, offer Twitter only specials. Twitter is a powerful marketing tool when used correctly and can really help to establish your brand in a competitive market.
Thanks, I'll definitely take a look at it. Although, I still find that authenticity and the amount of niche targeted friends you have is the largest contributing factor to receiving traffic.
It's funny...so many clueless noobs (complete morons, kids) here who go on and on about this highly-overrated Twitter being so "great," yet they don't have their page in their signature. Me thinks they either do not have one (the idiots post, just to post), or they don't want others to know they get only a few following them. *rolls eyes*
I agree that Twitter can be a pain in butt......If you don't quite know how to market it. However it does have a great page rank and can get your brand new site indexed fast when you link to it.
I think Twitter is an underutilized resource in online marketing, but it takes a lot of creativitiy in developing interesting and relevant "tweets" if you're going to truly be successful.
I don't think Twitter is useless as a marketing tool. Like anything, you have to build traffic from it slowly. Find 50 people relevant to your niche. Follow them. Some will follow you back. Unfollow the ones that don't. Follow 50 more relevant to your niche the next day and continuously repeat the process. Additionally, follow those that search you out. Build a following this way and then tweet useful tips and links to them. Twitter is part of a marketing plan that takes effort.
