So I had 132 articles written for one of my websites. I was thinking of get them listed gradually every week. I was thinking of submitting them once a week, in these numbers, is this the best way to do it...

    2
    3
    5
    7
    10
    20
    33

    and on...

Is that a good way to do it?

The best way is not to, this is unique content that can be more useful and benifical on your site, I always recommend against doing article submissions, all your doing is providing another website with unique content in exchange for a backlink that is in my terms "watered down".

Oh I post on a blog 10 times a month, so every 3 days. So I always have new content being added to my website.

Yes, but with your articles you want to "give away" you can make that 100x a month :)

I don't understand what you mean. When I post an article on a big site like Ezine Articles, it gets indexed higher in the search results, vs if I posted it on my website. Plus I get backlinks, people also look for my articles on Ezine Articles to post on their website, which gives me even more backlinks, and people click through to my websites from Ezine Articles, so i get traffic as well.

I don't understand why posting on an article site would be "giving away" my content?

It comes down to duplicate content and low quality links. Most people pulling articles from those sites run low quality websites that provide almost now SEO link value. You have to understand the concept of article sites to know why it's a waste of time. It might be a great move for someone starting out, but in the long run most advanced webmasters do not use this method to build backlinks.

I cant verify my facts, but I have seen these facts floating around the forums:

    1) You can get too many links too fast.
    2) Unique content is great for a website.
    3) Article submission will help you get links to your website.
    4) Drastic changes or additions to a website will create a temporary drop in the serps.

So, if it was me, I'd post 10 - 15% of the articles to article websites. (Over time) Say, 2 a week. And, I would post 2 a week to my website for the fresh content, and be sure that I didn't post any on my website that I submitted to article directories. But thats just me. Good luck though. I wish I had that much unique and new content.

I often times will look for sites that are in related industries as I am in but ones that are not direct competitors. I will call them and ask them if they are interested in unique content for their sites. This way I get a dedicated page with 1 to 3 links coming back to my site.

I do article submissions and find that it works rather well for me. As to your question, I would suggest submitting your articles on a consistent basis. If you submit one per week, that is fine, or if you submit 10 a week. Regardless of the number of articles that you submit try to keep it roughly the same each week.

I got your point! So, Its really not advisable to do article submission... Right? because there will be a tendency that your OWN article will be duplicated.

To avoid duplicate content, do not use the articles on your site for article distribution, write other articles (related to your site theme) and send it to articles distribution sites.

IMO, article submission is more or less similar to forum sigs, or maybe slightly better since you are getting one one-way link from unique domain as well as some exposure at other sites.

Anyone else have any advice on this issue?

To clarify things. I am not going to put the articles on my site, and then submit them to article directories. I will just be submitting them to article directories.

dont forget to submit to my article directory its all free.

for me you just summarize your unique content, make a catchy header and then at the 'about authors' write something unique for your blog or web.

i don't accept very long writing i even not read it, 400++ words just enough to me publish any article. :)

You provided the best answer for this question. thanks for this.
But Alternative is there, we need not submit full article.
But we can do submission as link article.
I can get 3 links from my author bio. and well choose article which are not following "nofollow".
    Thanks and Regards,
    Bloomtools.

As the founder of ArticleMarketer, the largest article distribution service on the net, I can offer a unique perspective. If you're asking about how to distributeyourarticles, well, that what my new company is all about :)

No one can tell you Google's display algorithm, but everyone knows Google's intended outcome:
To display unique, relevant content to its searchers.

If you aren't publishing articles and syndicating it around the web, your competitors are. When searchers hit Google asking for content related to YOUR keywords, your competitor's content shows - yours doesn't.

Someone mentioned "duplicate content". There is an important distinction to make, and it frequently gets overlooked in these discussions. From what I've seen in this thread, that distinction has not come up.

    "Penalty" vs. "Filtering"

If you post multiple versions of the same article on your website, Google believes you are attempting to manipulate their results. They hate that, and you'll be penalized. Your site will be removed from their SERPs.

But if you have a single article on multiple sites, they don't penalize you, they simply filter the results over time. They don't want to display your article multiple times.

And hey, that's fair. They aren't blocking you out of their SERPs, they're just doing what we all know they want to do: displaying unique, relevant content to searchers.

That's why it's important to be continually releasing NEW content and syndicating it as widely as possible, because Google LOVES content syndication.

The Associated Press has been syndicating content since the 1800s. At Article Marketer, we completed over 250,000,000 distributions, and although my former partners and I retired the URL in 2009, Google still ranks it very high for "article distribution". At DistributeYourArticles, we just last week acquired the company with the 2nd ranking - Article Sender.

So anyone convinced that Google has a problem with duplicate content has got to explain why Article Marketer, Article Sender, and Associated Press - all "duplicate content scofflaws" according to their view of the world, are all so highly ranked in the Google SERPs.
