Someone's stealing my content!

I noticed that i was getting linkbacks from a new site and saw that this was autoblog which means Someone's stealing my content! So you figure out that some lowlife is grabbing your RSS feed and using it to populate his MFA blog. How can i ban to syndicate my post.

 

You can not do anything except mailing the owner of the site and politely ask to remove your RSS. You can also contact his host, but I highly doubt that would help.
Limit your RSS to summery only.

 

Why are you bothering with that, google will probably do the job .. in other hand, maybe there is a way to protect rss feeds

 

Can you elaborate on this, what do you mean Google will do the job? Will it delist the site? ban it? Not sure what you mean please explain OK? As for protecting your RSS feed, a quick search for those keywords in Google brought up 48 million results, so I think you are not alone with this problem.

The autoblogs/MFA sites that have links back to my page dont bother me so much. What is worse is the ones that steal your content and take full credit for it. For those, report them to their advertisers (usually Adsense) and that usually takes care of it.

 

Erm, IP ban his server. His site will be using an automatic script to scrape the content, ban the IP of the server (where the script is) and hey presto. If you don't know how to get the IP, PM me.

 

I limit my feeds. but I love it when someone does this to me because its they are great backlinks

 

It'll take time, but google will realise who is copying, and then he will get pr drop, rank drop etc. - even if until now, they didn't do that.. don't know why.
But, your site will still be as it is now.. so why are you bothering with that?

 

Check wordpress admin panel settings option for limiting feed.

You Don't have to worry about. If someone stealing your articles then just sit back and relax. There is nothing going that bad for you. Google bots promptly access the new articles that you posted on your blog and it may take them time to get indexed for this articles. So, just relax and be happy because that guy will give you easy backlinks(who don't like these backlinks). And trust me you can paste few lines of the articles into Google and you will see that your site will ranked before that site who is stealing your articles. So, there is nothing to worry about but to cheers for easy backlinks.
for prove, just post a new content and noticed the time and later in few hours find out the AwStats of your site from cpanel of your hosting and you will see that your articles was instantly caught by Google, so you are the owner and stealer will pay for this.

Thanks for this thread. I have been experiencing the same problem. I had posted my blog and site link on the Google alerts and atleast 8 of my articles were copied with a little different title and first paragraph. However the guy also mentions my site url as well as my blog url at the end of the copied article. And most of the keywords which are there in the article are linked to the site which he is promoting.

I had mailed him for a warning, but he never stopped. So I had to send a mail to his promoting site contact and also sent a cc to google services. After doing this trick, he stopped copying my content

U get new backlinks, that is good for you

they will take care of the rest

 

If that site uses Adsense, report it to adsense team. Most of the time the site is obviousl autoblog.

 

I know, but what is the use of the backlink which has the same "copied" content from your blog. The site also might be blacklisted in google.
