Yes, Large no. of followers can give you huge traffic as well as PR and SERPs.

 

Twitter is Social Networking site and Social Networking site has no SEO value. It can give you good quantity traffic but it not help you to gain your site page rank neither it will count back link for your site

 

Twitter is just to make the regular updates,,,,i know it helps u rarely.
It may help for brand building and drag more traffic but no PR,no backlinks.

 

I can't say that Twitter will help you a lot to increase the Page Rank for your web page.

 

yes right but some time if your profile PR is good and you put you pages all links on twitter so may be it will be helpful for you

Agreed .. Social networking sites is just for traffic/promotional purpose only .. There is no relation with seo ,,,i heard somewhere that some people making money too .. may be but no idea about that.

 

as long as twitter bring you visitors, for me it also part of the PR factoring...

 

you can use your twitter to drive traffic and fast indexing but not for increasing PR

 

Keep in mind that Bing and Yahoo consider no-follow links (last I checked) so there is some value to Twitter and others.

I don t know if this is true but I heard that google can somehow monitor if your tweets are being re-tweeted by the other members - this determines how popular your website is and somehow could affect the way Google labels your site which could affect your PR. I don t know by how much though

But with Caffeine coming up, Twitter is a MUST tool apparently.

In my own experiences, all outbound links inside your tweets are nofollowed. So, they would not be helpful for your PR. Main advantage of putting your homepage in tweets would be it is really helpful for new sites to be indexed promptly.

Twitter will never gives you backlink and your won't get pr from it.

 

that's obviously can't help when it comes to increasing your backlinks but don't just ignore the traffic advantage can give it to your website.
