Use Wordpress for my mini-sites?

I work in the IT services industry. I have one main site which performs ok.

(Google Adwords has got too expensive to justify any more expediture with it)

I am just going to setup two mini-sites for two niches which I have spoted.

Should I just set these mini-sites up in Wordpress? because

    a) Google seems to love Wordpress
    b) it can be easily updated

Is this a good idea? Any opininos welcome.

Personally, I love Wordpress for the plug in's, the variety of
themes, and the pure simplicity of it.

My micro niche sites get indexed fast and once you get a system of
    doing things, updating is simple.

Social bookmarking is also a breeze with Wordpress. Which will help
you to position yourself as an authority in your niche.

I install the free "Traffic Getting SEO Plugin" and everything flows
    smoothly...

Why should google loves wordpress? Custom built website, perfectly optimised is always much better than messy wordpress

But I'm not a designer and I cannot code!

All my sites before were custom made by a great designer BUT they are static sites. As I expect my niches to become more competitive I feel i need something that can be updated weekly - without having to email my designer with small incremental changes.

Wordpress is your best bet for mini-niche blogs. Simple because it has got so much of flexibility in every aspect.

    Install Wordpress and Enjoy ;)

I would say yes too... WP is easy to install , loved by G , simple to update with loads on cool plugins for SEO , Anaylicts and much more. I have many "blogs" as sites and they do very well in SEPRS and quickly pick up a decent page rank.. The auto ping features also mean that any updates you make a quickly picked up by the search engines.

Wordpress has nothing special toward Google, yet Google has no reason to treat them special either. :) They are a few reasons why Google does seems like Wordpress more than others

    1. Wordpress come with special plugins which can boost up a huge SEO performance. You cannot find this kind of powerful plugins like this in another one such as Typo3, Joomla and even blogger itself.

    2. Wordpress has a "ping" features as default. Although it seems like a plain and no special but it help Google and other search engine bots know when your site content has being added / updated at least.

    3. Many wordpress sites do offer quality contents, plus updated regularly. Google put towards useful content for their users and there it is.

Wordpress will help your content being updated much easier but it's not about the Google favor on them exactly. I would suggest you to build links toward your main site instead of just set up more mini-sites. If you have not threaten your mini-sites well then its ending will be the same as your main site.
