I've been putting off this project for well over a year now just because I wasn't sure if there was actually a need for it. I have the majority of the work completed all I really need to do is just put it all together. My idea was for an all inclusive ebook and instructional videos from the very beginning. Starting at the research phase for a website/blog through picking a domain name and hosting company, through designing the site, through marketing. Cover everything! But then I thought, most if not all of that would be googleable...so whats the point? Do you guys think anyone would actually buy it or be willing to be an affiliate for it? If so, what would be a good price point for something like that? Just from memory of the last time I wrote some tutorials were talking between 100-200 pages and I'd say at least 20 hours of video attached.
Quite a few people will have interest in buying such a product. While information is certainly available on the internet, all of it is not available at one place. People hard pressed for time will prefer to read an ebook that contains all that they require. Price point- depends on various factors. How many sales do you have in mind? Are you doing all the writing and video recording or are you outsourcing it to others? Do you plan to give others resale rights? Are you going to provide support and free upgrades in the future? Your answers to these questions should give you an approximate price. At the end of the day, you are the best judge as to what the price should be, because it is your effort that has gone into the making of the ebook.
No resale rights. I would be the sole owner. I would allow affiliates to earn a commission by selling it for me though. I'd do all the writing and video recording, most of which is done already. And there would be free updates. The book would contain everything they needed but I would consider offering additional support "on the side"
Folks would buy... but have you considered giving it away? Bet you could build a sizable list almost overnight with a freebie of this caliber.
If you put it in front of the right audience I'm sure people would buy it. Wish I had a guide like that before I started out - it could have saved a lot of mistakes.
People will buy anything. There are all kinds of buyers. Impulse buyers are my favorite. Getting related traffic should be your #1 goal. I don't mean buying traffic, but finding traffic related to your product niche.
The point is, just about all of it is pure Grade-A crap. It states the obvious, that is read 10,000 times before. If yours is a cut above the rest (not advising to use Twitter, harping on SEO, using signatures, social networks blah, blah, blah....), and if your site is nice, along with having a good marketing plan, you will do just fine. Also remember: People are not tired of buying e-info., they are tired of buying e-shit.
I think people would be willing to buy something like that, in fact some partners and I are putting together something very similar. Everyday, thousands of people stumble online looking or some extra cash. More now with the current world economy than any other time in internet history, so you can bet your bottom dollar people will want to know everything they can about making money online.
Are you solely teaching people how to setup websites/blogs or are you targeting more the Internet Marketing niche... one is probably achievable the other is a cut throat industry with some really clever guys and gals running the show. You could try get it up on Clickbank and ask some webmasters with existing traffic to promote it as an affiliate... give them 50% of the sale... it's a really easy way to make a start with no money down on advertising.
Yes, it can be sold. People always thing though that their product is worth more than it really is though. I've seen some great packages that go for less than 20 bucks -- videos, pdf, ebooks -- the whole thing. That's pretty reasonable.
