I'm using winhost.com for that reason. You get remote IIS7 control panel just to control IIS7. You can re-configure the web site anyway you like.

They allow web permissions to allow you to run server-side inter-connectivity with other sites. You can run your own .NET code.

What issues are you facing exactly at godaddy?

I have an application hosted with them running .net3.5 and everything is ok....... apart from the really annoying database administration online tool and the fact that they do not allow remote connections :(

I have ASP.NET 3.5 and 2.0 web applications hosted with godaddy - no problems here (yet). I think the MySQL Databases do allow remote connections (there is a "allow remote connection" tickbox when you create the database). Not sure about SQL Server though.

yeah, I just figured this out. I had to drop my previously created DB and create a new one. Upon creation there is a tickbox where you can select an option to allow remote connections. Thank god ( for them ) that a friend told me about it becuase I was just about to switch hosting.

This is for both MySQL and MS SQL

It would be a lot easier to answer this question if you provided some specifics about the problem you're having with GoDaddy and ASP.NET 3.5.

I'm not sure whether GoDaddy has 3.5 SP1 on their Windows servers, so I would find out. Without that, my suspicion would be that maybe you're trying to use some of the new functionality introduced with ASP.NET 3.5 SP1.

Does anyone know whether GoDaddy has 3.5 SP1, or when they plan to upgrade to 4.0?
