Phpld Vs Esyndicat And the winner is?

Ok i have been in and around the directory business for quite a few years now as many of the older members will know and have owned some great directories.

I have long been a user of Phpld and recently decided i would switch to Esyndicat and see what its like and have to say im very impressed.

So i though i would make a post in the directories forum thats not about this directory list and that directory list which is all that seems to get posted these days.

PHPLD Benefits:
Most well known (unfortunatly)
Low Cost
Easy Install
Not to bad Support
Lots of Free themes
some good free mods

PHPLD Downside:
Owner is`nt very popular
Most Mods are Paid Mods
Mods can be difficult to install (for some people)
Popular with spammers

If i have missed anything let me know.

Esyndicat Benefits:
Low Cost
SImple Install
Great Support
Most Mods are Free (including Deeplinks)
Free Multi checkout mods (2checkout/paypal/moneybookers)
More features

Esyndicat Downside:
Not so many nice themes

And the winner is Esyndicat (well to me anyway)
Obviously the above is just my opinion but i welcome yours.

 

I voted for PHPLD, the script is a good price and has loads of modifications available.

I have not used Esyndicate, I have no plans to do so.

Why is it unfortunate that PHPld is most well known, it must have become so for a reason?

“You say that the owner isn’t very popular” is the owner of Esyndicate popular? I don’t know who he or she is.

I vote for Phpld for it is easy to use. But I think that phpld needs improvement for quite some areas for example, deeplinks options, yearly charge option....

Hope the owner can hear our voice.

 

I started on phpld but for someone that is not familiar with coding and modifying scripts Esyndicat provides everything I require and if it is not available the support team are always there to assist and explained things in way that even I can understand.

 

phpLD is famous, the owner nice, and the script is nice too! and hence famous, with the overall package!

it was more famous when there were many coders and theme designers working for it,....
but with most of them gone (modders and designers), and with new scripts in the arena, its time for some stiff competition!

its a tough one between phpLD and eSyndicat,... people who havent used it by far vote for phpLD,....
guess future releases of both script will telll, what they have to offer, to decide which will rule!

It’s strange that people are voting Esyndicat but not posting to say why it’s better than PHPLD.

Come on and tell us why, I haven’t used it so it would be nice to know.

I hear many good things on eSyndicat and love to try for one of my dir (in fact I already decide that I will for that site I have in my mind), but I cannot yet because investment is quite high ($70 for license + another $150 for conversion). S holding this first until enough to start on a eSyndicat site.

 

I voted for esyndicat as they have superb support lots and lots of free MODs and it does not need any technical ability to install plugins. Their support rocks and they are always there to help you when u need them.

 

You mentioned under PHPLD Downside that owner is not popular but you did not mentioned anything about Esyndicat owner.

You should know that when a product is popular, must be that's a good product. Otherwise that should not get popularity.

BTW, this kind of thread does not help people to chose a best script. It's create mostly confusion, nothing else.

I agree somewhat. Try the demos on both scripts and see if they meet ones needs.

I like Esyndicat.

A bit slower, but very organized and great built-in options.

 

I am sure eSyndicat is very popular for a reason All the more reason for me to save and buy script.

 

I paid for phpLD for more than a year and still have some difficulty to setup its templates.

 

eSyndicat - Support is good and lots of free mods available.
1) free deep links mod.

Too many free mods to list.
