the 'o' is short. trying to say it with an L in there sounds like your trying to say 'soldier' with your mouth full. ;)

Is this thread a joke or is everyone on here 12? Solder has nothing to do with selling a house. Solder is when you solder two pieces of metal together with the L is silent and pronounced sodder. That is not just an American version of the word, that is the correct pronunciation.

If you pronounce the L in Solder you saying the word wrong and there is no debate in that. You are simply wrong.

    we will be there
    we'll be there

i prefer 'we'll be there' typing or or verbalizing it.

trying to say solder with the L in it just doesn't fit right.

That's wrong. I have only seen "please write me soon" written by a foreigner that has BAD English. That's a basic mistake that if you are using it, almost everything you say is broken English.

"please write to me soon" would be what is used in America unless you have bad English skills.

Use the word in a sentence. I think there is confusion on what the word means and what word we are actually talking about. The original poster talked about selling a house, which the word solder has nothing to do with at all.
