Is Twitter going to be bigger than article marketing?

An interesting question don't you think? Twitter has a PR9 while hte best article directory Ezinearticles has only PR 6. Twitter kills EZ in traffic.
Have you got any leads/sales from Twitter yet?

And don't tell me that twitter is a social media platform and irrelevant to article marketing. I might just post some thinks that will make you look like a fool.

Who knows? Who cares? Both are good for getting traffic. Plus just wait something new will come along and blow both of them apart.

Twitter is good for generating traffic only if you have too many followers under your belt. Articles Directories have been the all time favorite source for traffic generation.
Currently i guess article directories will provide a better potential and targeted traffic for your site.

Twitter is a social media platform, and as such can be used as a marketing platform when done right. It has the potential to drive massive traffic, and it is also becoming very important in the search engines. I recently watched an SEO presentation that said that Google now watches twitter trends to determine what is "fresh" and important. There was even some speculation that Google Buzz was a direct attempt to reverse and challenge this dynamic.

I think article marketing still has value for marketing and in some ways, you can get more targeted traffic from it still. However Twitter can be used as a way of notifying people in your niche that you are talking about a specific topic of interest to them on your blog.

I doubt it. I think Twitter is popular because people are nosy and like to spy on other people and this makes them feel like they are doing that. Article directories are continuously updated knowledge bases that Google spiders. Also, article directory pages can be optimized around a certain keyword with title, tags and keywords. When is the last time you search Google and got a Twitter page as a result? Just my opinion...

I can say that Twitter has done wonders for me with way less effort than article writing. It does involve work, but with the right tools you can turn Twitter into a gold mine for your business.

Ive done pretty well myself, in Twitter, 3 accounts, over 9,000 followers, two with Pr's of 4 and the third has a Pr of 5. Yes Ive definitely gotten leads and customers from Twitter. Best thing about it, its totally free! I mean you just cant beat that. I also have Expert author status with Ezine, but have not recieved the same amount of play that I get in Twitter. So Id say yes twitter is better.

Well here's what you need to do: Work for me atleast

You surely have a blog or site that gives RSS Feed. Right ? Step 1 Accomplished

    Step 2: Got to twitterfeed.com
Add your Rss Feed and connect it with your Twitter Account
Now as soon as you add new post into your account. Twitterfeed.com will automagically post it in your twitter account.
No need to touch anything. Simple add new post each day.

Btw, if you have a autoblog then this works as a charm.

I have a auto blog which fetches videos from Youtube and posts it in my blog. 15-20 new posts each day and same amount of auto tweets in my twitter account

Result: 200-300 UV each day without doing anything. Just setup once and forget.

Beat that now: Article Marketing !!!

I find the using both would work the best.

If you get 300 UV a day from twitter and only 150 UV from article marketing...

Why not do both still an additional 150 UV...

    Just my 2 cents

Yes it gets you good traffic but I can't help but think that we are junking up the web with junk comments and turning it into a place where people wont turn to in the future as there wont be any good content. Are we not creating a rubbish wasteland.

Twitter is only good for generating repeat traffic. But for getting new traffic Article Marketing is still way ahead in that aspect

I never had very good luck with twitter, but I don't spend as much time with it as I should or other people do. I get some traffic from it but I wouldn't consider it quality traffic. One of these days I'll have to sit down and spend more time with it.

i think their will be other players too ..

Try whatever you need to get traffic.

Twitter works for certain campaigns better than others.

Also depends how you use it. The more you use it, the more you retweet, the more you make a valid contribution

the better the benefit over the long term.

Both are good for generating traffic. However, based on experience during the past few months, I think Twitter is more effectively.
