Hey guys I have read many articles that say you should register the domain name before starting to build the site. My preferred name contains a personal element, so I am in no danger of losing it. Is this the only reason to register first or is their something in the coding side of things? Cheers all mohamed elgharib
Yes, the only reason to register first is to ensure that you keep that domain name, plus obviously you cant purchase hosting for the domain name, until you own it
The only reasons to buy it before you've made the site are if you think someone else will buy the domain in the time between now and making the site, or if its your first site and want the hosting that comes with the domain for live testing purposes (mainly if your using server side languages and have not set up a server on your own computer).
so strange, you must decide himself, but my opinion - if you not afraid to lose your unique domain, you hadn't to register name before building site.
You should definitely buy the domain before you create the site. As the others have said the benefits outweigh the risks. Plus it's like less than $10 to get a domain these days...
If you have positive intentions to launch your website over the web then you better need to register it first because the name of the website should be matched with the niche area, second if you wouldnt do this then might be possible you made the website first and not feasible names will be available for your website.. Regards
If you will be building your site with CMS that use server scripting, such as joomla or wordpress, you definitely need to buy your domain name and get a hosting service first. But if you have a web design software on your computer and will be using that t build your site, you can do the building first and buy the domain and hosting later.
