Everybody has their own way to get the traffic and market/advertise their site. I would like to know the traffic tactics which you guys normally use.

Mine are:
1.) email marketing
2.) forums
3.) blog comments
4.) JVing

This is what has worked better for me so far, compared to anything else.

Good content, targetting my own country only, in a non saturated niche with well written regularly updated content, and building backlinks for that site, to actually rank for keywords that make sense to be ranking for them.

4.) JVing what is that?

 

I personally use blog posting, video marketing, social networks, and article writing the most. Depending on my website I get the majority of my traffic from one of these sources. In the case of blog posting and article writing I am focusing on search engine traffic, while social networks and video marketing is focusing on the "viral" aspect of marketing.

 

Free traffic from Google search gives me at least 80% of mmy traffic

 

For traffic, I post on forums and blogs and run a few text link ads.

Pipes is revealing some good info here. If you live in a country where people have a little bit of money, even the Philippine
which is considered poor, some people have credits cards and the mall is full of people everyday here. Get a domain with
your countries extension; TLD, like .de for germany or whatever. Many people in these countries search for "page from
Germany only", just an example. I live in Ph and use google.com/ncr, but if I delete my google cookies, I automatically go
to google.co.ph or whatever it is.

Next pay attention to what keywords you are targetting. It's important.

And don't forget quality, high PR back links; that can make or break you.

Article writing seems to work the best for me as a way to get back links and traffic.
