Looks like PHPLD isn't the only one who gets people to skew polls. It's these self promotion threads that are ruining/have ruined DP IMO.

I like phpLD as that is what I began with, but eSyndicat is the best in my books as it is the easiest to set up and customize as someone that is not familiar with the coding side of the scripts, they have a great support network and they go out of their way to explain things.

 

I have both phpLD and qlwebDS. It is not hard to figure out where my vote is going. qlWebDS is my choice. This script is simple to install, easy to use and proivdes good customer service. These three things mean a lot to me as a user and customer.

I'm not a big player, only just a few hundreds installations.

Also have you carefully checked the old of the script? 2005 is a new script to me, my first directory is created in 1998 so I know the oldest one

my vote would go for phpLD, coz its something ive worked on for a long tme, and its actually a nice script!

But with the coming of newer scripts, i think eSydicate stands out from the group; highly professional product especially for people who are serious in the business!

I have used several of the scripts on the list, mainly Esyndicat, QlwebDs and PHPMydirectory. I must say that the guys at Esydicat are really great, Ben and his support team at PHPMydirectory are stars as well. But QlwebDs is my directory of choice. I base my vote on the ease of use and the level of support that each script provides. I find that the sites built with QlwebDs get indexed a lot better than the others.

 

I rarely hear a good feedback for qlWebDS here. It is nice to here it.
May I know how many pages do you get indexed and how long to get this number. It is interesting.

For the feature list. I vote for esyndicate, then indexu in second. But I see both of them almost equal. Both of them also offer a great number of templates. (please don't mention phpld )

 

I am not really a pro here so I am only speaking from a newbies piont of view. I have done several test on new installs of my top 3 scripts QlwebDs, Esyndicat and PHPMydirectory. I find that all my Qlweb sites are indexed alot more and faster by google. If all categories are written with unique discriptions I find that 90% if not all pages will get index within a matter of days. The only factor that I could say would go against the other 2 scripts is that the QLwebDs templtes are all valid html.

 

True, but it feels a little manufactured when the user has only two posts and both of them are talking up qlWebDS.

I had a lot of respect for indexu until I found out that it has a huge flaw which means that premium listings once paid get automatically accepted into the directory (ie, there is no review process). The fact that they seem to be ignoring the problem has certainly made it worse.

I've never heard anything bad about esyndicate, they seem to do a good job overall IMO.

 

When i just started out on the internet DP was one of the first forums I joined. The scripts that I am pushing here are some of the first scripts that I learnt to install and work with even before I learnt what is FTP or how to write a break tag in html. I havn't been active here for a long time but when I see a thread that really interest me I dnt see why I shouldn't add my opinion.
Out of the 3 scripts I have mentioned, I can call all of the support teams by name and Im sure they would all recognize my email. These guys have really helped me to learn quiet a bit since then. Thats why I say that from a noobs piont of view, and the level of support that each script provide I would go with Qlweb.

 

I think this thread is very informative since it gives the users of these scripts the option to let others know how we really feel about the services that we have been getting and the results we have had using them. After 2 yrs I am still a member of the esyndicat forums, PHPmydirectory forums and QlWebds forums, and actually the reason I left DP a long time ago was because after reading a few of the sarcastic comments here I felt my opinion wasn't valued.

 

As always, phpLD is my first choice

i guess where products are concerned its more to do with the product itself,... good products develop a market themselves, but everybody does need a bit of advertising!
