All of the designs were great and I liked many others. My top five are the designs I felt fit in best with what I am trying to do. If this contest was just based on design skills, my top five may have been different for this website (the whole powerful and simple thing). Also, I wish I had given more time for revisions since only a couple of you got revisions in on time. Great job for everybody! I will keep everyone updated once I made my selection and will be sure to keep many of you great designers updated on my future contests!

@Fenzo: It was mostly my fault. I think in the future I will make my contests 3 days and make comments after the second day so everybody still has 24 hours for revisions.

Everyone, please continue to criticize me (seriously) because I really want to make my contests great for everyone. Just post comments here or send me a PM.

@stardesigns: Again, mostly my fault for not giving enough time for revisions! Your design could have probably taken this contest had I given you enough time. Will try to think about more ways to make my contest fair for everyone!

I haven't yet selected a winner. I think most of the designs were too dark for what I wanted so am trying to see which one would work best.

colour scheme is not a problem, it would be a minutes away to change... just ask us to do lighter version if you want too..

Hey guys. suke, you are absolutely right. After seeing the designs and imagining the new content however I think the colours I picked may be too dark. It is alright though guys! I just may ask one of you to change your colours if when I finally decide the winner

Everyone: I have pretty much made my decision already. This contest had a little bit of a delay due to some email communication lag... I will announce the winner as soon as I consider each person who entered one final time (give me 24 hours, I am also waiting for a message).

In the mean time, anyone who wants can answer some fun (?) questions:
1) Do you prefer I list the top five designs in my contests?
2) How long should the contests last? Is 48 hours too little?
3) What is an appropriate length of time between the end of the contest and when I announce a winner?
4) Do you like the new DP design? It is hard for me to get used to it
5) Suggestions for future contests?

1) Yes this would be very helpful in order for us to move on if our entry isn't chosen as one of your top 5.
2) 48 hours is ok, since little modification is not a big deal for you.
3) 2 days is very good, and extensions are possible too.. the most important thing is there is always a winner on your contest...
4) yeah, i like the look of it now, although it takes me sometimes to find the contest i have entered.. hehehe =(
5) Well for a suggestion, i could say is "Keep up the good contest!"

 

1) top 2 design is better than top 5 , it narrows it down a bit more.
2) 48 hours is perfect, no contest on DP should be more than 48 hrs. , if a CH wants it longer , they should host it on 99designs.
3) 2 days to announce the winner is perfect but up to 5 days is understandable considering a third party (client) is involved.
4)The DP look is different but will be ok in a couple of weeks when we all get used to it. But I always like simple. less is more
5) suggestion....mmmm... select the best design as the winner
