I'm out of Google's sandbox!

My site ultrathrill.com was stuck in Google's sandbox for quite some time (two months) as it was deemed as a porn site. It showed up in results when safe search was turned off which was annoying.

I cleaned up all the content (looking at every page), edited pages with keywords appearing over 7% of the time and removed stories that were a bit too "tongue in cheek" and near to adult content.

I literally just left it all for two months with virtually no traffic from Google; now it's finally ranking again! :D

I submitted a request for it to be re-included into Google's SERPs too, perhaps they take two months to actually get round to seeing those request i dunno

That's great! At least you know what's wrong, and take action to remedy the situation.

Yes just be careful what words you put on your site!

And make sure you have lots of nofollow links to your site before building lots of dofollow links

10 x virtually nothing = still near to nothing lol. Grats on getting out, though. Google normally takes 1-3 weeks to go over the reconsideration request though. Sucks it took so long.

The site has been back IN the Google sandbox and then back out again in the last 3 days!! Never making a male enhancement site again

It gets 8 visits a day in sandbox, 60-80 out of sandbox ;)

Glad to hear you got it sorted.

However I don't think Sandbox got anything to do with your site not showing on safe search. Clearly its a adult site or not adult site issue. Just my 2 cents:)

It's within Google Webmaster tools on the left side navigation, you may need to link your site to webmaster tools firstly to prove it yours :)

Why care about google - Don't get me wrong be everyone is using google as a "status" and I think it's great that you are ranking.

BUT! Google is a heavy weight. Would you rather get pummeled by the heavyweight or knock the lights out of the pip-squeek for more traffic? I crush MSN/BING/LIVE google is just a bonus after that

    - Webcosmo you could be right! I've had issues with some really dodgy searches reaching the site and tried to clean it up. It's hard to make a site about Adult problems without actually kicking off the adult filter. I re-wrote a lot of the text and removed words like "virgin" out of pages out of fear of Google's wavering thumb.

    - Staffsergeantpeterson I too have had great sucess with Bing; all you have to do is work your way through a high PR backlink packet and it seems you can rank for anything on Bing despite all the spammy links. Not sure of the future of Bing, Yahoo etc. could you be building on something that may collapse?
