Rules Have DP banned users from posting links to own websites?

Someone posted a thread looking for a photo rating website, I posted a link to my website that sells the script and received an infraction “self promotion is inappropriate” I told the OP to contact me if he/she wanted it, and I was going to give it for free.

Typical Dp, i got an infraction for telling someone about a link in my sig that was related to what they where looking for.

I thought the idea of joining Dp was so that we CAN promote our own sites

 

The Infraction isn’t the problem.

I wondering if this is the end of Solicitations & Announcements, what about people that post discount or coupon codes for their own Directories? Is this still allowed?

as for S&A, thats a different ball of wax. and its only a one time thing, supposedly, posting your directory.

 

What’s with the sound familiar? And did you read “I was going to give it for free” if so your answer was "inappropriate"

i don't care if its free or $1000, if you post your link its link spam. use the PM system instead of spamming your link and upping your post count.
