Dirmoz Web Directory - PR4 - For Sale!

After careful consideration, I've decided to offer Dirmoz Web Directory for sale. Dirmoz is currently a PR4 directory and all the main subcategories are PR4 as well. Many of the inner subcategories are PR4 as well, though some do not have PR as of yet. Since the last PR update, I've added many links to the site in a continuing effort to make the directory more attractive for clients to submit their sites to.

Categories have their own meta description and I've modified the code to add a category's subcategories as keywords.

The directory is about five months old. It's first month, it won PHPLD Directory of the month. In the middle of July, I closed it from free submissions to a paid directory, offering $4.95 for regular links and $14.95 for featured listings.

The design is simplistic. I've had many kind comments on the design and someone actually made a similar theme of the design as a PHPLD template.

Dirmoz Web Directory Details:

Directory details. There are 2057 active links in 323 categories. There are 55 featured listings with approximately 30 paid listings. Since converting from a free directory to paid directory in July, there have been 47 featured/paid listings. I have kept the submission emails from all of these and can forward to the new owner.


Links to the site. There are no paid links to the site, other than quite a few featured listings in numerous directories. In other words, there are no paid PR6/7/8 monthly paid links pointing to the site. All links are acquired either by submission, or others linking to the site on their own. I have purchased two signature links for a few months here on DP for advertising.

Earnings. The current design is not as conducive to adsense earnings as it could be. Earings are so negligible with adsense, they are not worth noting. The site earnings have come from a combination of both paid and featured listings. Main categories are reserved for featured listings giving plenty of room for additional featured listing revenue.

Unlike many directories, there are no "partner" links. A redesign of the front page or even a new template, could yield a substantial burst of revenue by selling front page "partner" links to other directories.


Site stats. To assist in helping bidders to make an informed buying decision, I've screen captured the entire cpanel stats for August 2006.


Condition of Sale. This is important. I value those who have entrusted their hard earned money into Dirmoz Web Directory to buy a link to promote their site. Paid links must remain with the site (approximately 30). Featured lisings must remain for the featured duration, which is one year from date of purchase. There is much room to expand this directory with many more featured listings, paid links and partner links. I will pass on those who have purchased paid links. Links after 17 July 2006 were paid, prior to that, they were free. What you do with the previously free links is your decision, but you must agree to keep on the paid links.

Site assets. You will receive the entire source, including the custom PHPLD template I created, the .psd file and the PHPLD license. I'm not entirely sure how to transfer the license to you, but I will provide my PHPLD username/password so that you have control of the paid license account and can download the latest version if you choose. You will receive the site database in it's entirety and the source and database will be destroyed from my computer once you've received. You will be the only owner of these assets.


Site transfer. I will assist in transferring the site to you as part of the sale. I can either a) transfer all assets to you in a .zip file, along with access information and the PHPLD account info, and/or b) with given cpanel access, I will be happy to setup and install the directory for you. I can continue hosting the site on my VPS if needed, there is no pressure to move.

I've sold a number of sites on DP and I'm very easy to work with. With over 5000 posts, reputation and iTrader rating, you can bid with confidence and I will assist you through the transfer process and make sure you are setup and ready to operate the directory. I can also provide consulting services down the road if needed.

Right now, there are almost 3000 references to dirmoz.com in Google. Lots of backlinks here, lots of work into gettting the directory name out there!

 

BIN is set at $1,600.00

If BIN is not met, reserve price is $1,000, meaning the highest bid over $1,000 at auction close on Friday will be the winner.

If you need a week, or even a month to get hosting in order, I'm flexible. I'll do the transfer to your new host in your own time, transfer the domain and spend time on the phone with the winning bidder to make sure you know how the site works and answer any questions.
