Content is KING! - How do you write it then?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by domedia_ro, Feb 25, 2010.

A very well known expression is "Content is King", but my question is: how do you write it? This question doesn't refer at how do we type it :D - how anyone would write quality content about something he / she is not familiar with?

I am waiting for qualified answers from qualified people in this field - they will be beneficial for me and most of the D.P. S.E.O.'s .

    Thanks.

Good content is readable and does not suffer huge bounce rates. The title is the most important element. Do not use apostrophe s in the title. Include your main keyword in the title. Use short paragraphs. Use subheadings. Use good grammar and perfect spelling. Online readers want articles of a maximum of 500 words but ideally 300 words or less. Articles over 500 words should be published in pages or sections. It is easy to spot an illiterate keyword stuffer who does not know A from a bull's foot so research is necessary.

One of the ways I use is with the dragon naturally speaking software.

I'll read an article on the subject and take notes.

Then, I'll read the notes into the software, quote from the original article, and BOOM, I have a well written and informative article.

The process takes all of 10-15 minutes per article.

Quality content is content of value and you don't have to be an expert on a particular subject matter to produce quality content.

A few quick tips to help get you started with producing content:
Post a question in a forum. Take the post replies and write a summary
Readers love lists, create a list of topical resources, (tools, websites, software, etc...)
Share an opinion on a recently read blog post
Find trade publications (on and offline) and pay attention to the topics, issues, and articles

Over time your knowledge on the topic will grow, and your writing and content will improve as well. The best thing to do is to just start writing.

You should do keyword research first so you'll use those words in writing an article. If you're not good at writing, you can hire a content writer.

I'm probably of a different opinion from many DPers. I believe that a person writes best about what he or she is thoroughly familiar with. Otherwise, we are basically rephrasing what other, more knowledgeable people are saying, and that's not a recipe for success.

Your question is about how to write content. The answer is brainstorming and taking a lot of key points you want to cover in the article in the form of an outline. Then expand the outline and fillin the details to create the article covering the points which you want to say in the article.

Write the rough draft of the article as follows:
1 Tell your readers what you are going to tell them. This is your introduction. For example:
a)This article explains how to create a PowerPoint slide presentation. It covers the following information: choosing a theme, creating a title slide, and creating topic slides.
b)The information in this article is written for a beginner. The author assumes that you have never used PowerPoint.
2 Tell your readers what you promised to tell them. In this section you tell them how to choose a theme, create a title slide, and how to create topic slides.
3 Tell your readers what you just told them. For example:
a)This article taught you how to create a PowerPoint slide presentation. You learned how to choose a template, how to create a title slide, and how to create topic slides.

but secret is do a 1 and 3 first, then second(main) comes by itself. :) Do a up to 2.5% kwd density.

There are two important aspects of web content. For simplicity's sake, we'll call them Quantity and Quality.

Quality means that the content should be well written and be free from those embarrassing typos that make visitors wonder if your website really knows what it's talking about. For our purposes, however, it also means that content should be rich in keywords, informative and interesting, so that the visitor feels they've learned something. Such is the power of Quality content.

Quantity, on the other hand, means that your website should be updated regularly with new content added. A visitor may return to an informational article once, or even two or three times, but if your website's content never changes, eventually, there will be no reason for him to return.

obviously content play an important role to promote a particular site, but keyword density should be in the content.

If you are not able to write it your self, better hire some one and make him/her understand about your topic, your targeted keywords & phrases.

I would echo what previous posters have said - if you're not familiar with the topic, it will make the task all the more difficult and this will be apparent when you produce an article that is just a re-hash of what other people have written. In this instance it could be better to hire someone who is familiar with the topic.

Having said that, if you have a naturally good writing style and you're willing to put in the research, you can write about something completely new if you're willing to put the time and effort into it.

Content is King the term used in the seo process for the optimization of the websites over the search engines. But writing quality and effective content is an art and very less people are aware of this.
Always provide quality unique and fresh content on the web pages of the websites to get more traffic from Google search engine.

There are many interesting reading on that theme. Start from Gary Halbert's books (easily found on the web). He's a great copywriter of all times and I'm sure you'll learn much from him. It is also quite entertaining reading.

You write it by doing so in a way that is readable and attractive to those who find your page whilst (as 1Associate said) bearing in mind that you need to get your main keyword phrases into your title and early on in your on page text content.

Also as Jim4767 said if you know what you are talking about in regards to a subject this will help immensely as you can then write with authority due to a firm grounding in that subject.

@MyLinkClub how is that cheating lazy method working out for you?
