I decided to go with domainsite.com they offer 6.99 coms. What do you think about domainsite? Also do they have any promo codes, specials? Do they offer who is privacy included? couldnt find that on FAQ

never used them before. You are only paying $2 less than Godaddy. If i were you I would check the renewel price.. if its not too high, you should be ok!

The 6.99 is the basic plan and they do have the Hide Whois as an Add-on.

They are pretty much offering prices at rock bottom so don't expect any promo codes. As taken from their FAQs

    http://www.domainsite.com/faq.php#9f
Check http://www.domainsite.com/services.php# for pricing and Hidden Whois is the Privacy thing which you are asking about. I am not sure how much that cost though.

I always use domainsite, though I am not a professional domainer.

    Two reasons I use them:

1.) Bulk search: it's the quickest bluk search I've found, and it allows you to grab multiple domains (.net, .org. etc) at once.

2.) Support for IDNs. Not many registrars offer IDNs.

I have also used 1and1, and still have domains registered with them...

    One reason I dislike 1and1:

Every order you place is bundled in a different "package," and if you want to make a bulk change, you can't. This isn't out of the ordinary (with domainsite, for instance, I have to make DNS changes individually for each domain). What is bizarre about 1and1 is that each time you place an order, it appears as a different "package."

    EXAMPLE:
So, let's say you order domain1.info and domain1.net at the same time with 1and1. These two domains become a package, under your customer number. A month later you order domain2.info and domain2.net with 1and1.

The domain1's and the domain2's are now different packages, like different orders, and you can't even edit them or view their stats from the same page.

BOTTOM LINE: 1and1 has an awful control panel.

Reasons to like both domainsite and 1and1:
    1.) Cheap
    2.) Very cheap.

Reasons to dislike both 1and1 AND domainsite:
1.) neither offers a "delete" function, should you want to terminate a registration before its time is up
2.) neither offers a "trial period" whereby you can test a domain's traffic before you buy, then delete, as mentioned in (1).

Try Moiker or Enom for these advanced (but more expensive) options.

For deleting a domain at domainsite, you just send a request and they will delte it.

I had a problem with 3 of my domains (they were typos of a very big website in india and also trademarked) and those company filed a case against me for transferring the domains. I sent a mail to domainsite.com to delete those domains and they were deleted by the next day.

Good info. Did you have to send a request by snail mail, or would email do?

I too use DomainSite along with GoDaddy and Moniker. Nice fast interface, real-time whois, very decent prices (without having to use a discount code) and support for .in domains. I know I should use GoDaddy because everybody I'm trying to sell to will alreay have a GoDaddy account but buying a domain at DomainSite is just so easy. The only thing I don't like about DomainSite is when I do a push of a domain to another user I don't get e-mail receipt documenting details of who the domain was pushed to.

No promos or specials.. Only fixed low prices..
    Good interface and easy navigation..
Easiest damn push you will get anywhere..

I have just short of 200 domains there and I am very happy with them..

Btw.. I think Domnom is talking about name.net .. Not name.com...

    EDIT

I can see this thread is from August 2006.. Who the F*ck opens up these oldies??
