how to market a private blog?

i started writing a blog about my life, i don't get much readers coming in my blog.
any idea how do i market it? ( i don't think seo will be good).

 

Not to be rude, but unless you are some kind of super star, I don't think you can make any money from a personal blog. No one going to read it unless they know you or maybe if you're lucky, they in the same situation you are in.

You should try to blog about a topic/niche you are interested in.

Just for an example, if you're in to gaming, you could blog about the new games that are coming out. You can try to call up the developers and see if you can get an interview with them by phone. If that fails try to get an email interview. Tell them it's for your website based on gaming. Not many people will go that far trying to get new info and details for a niche, so generally, you would get a decent amount of traffic once indexed.

 

If you have a blog that you actually have valuable content on then maybe you can get traffic. What you should do is just add a link to it on your facebook and twitter accounts.

 

True, to choose a good nich is very important. The simpliest way is to talk about the hottest topic recently.

 

that's not a whole story. try to write something unique and delicious, people will come with you.
of course you have to do some article / blog submission and get over the sandbox of google at first.

 

Write content which interests people.
If you want to run a personal blog of your choice, then visit it yourself thousands times a day. and if you want that unique visitors will come than make a blog of there interest.

 

Focus primary on the page design and content.

I don't necessary agree with what most of you said.
Why do people read books for example? If the story is good ppl will want to read it.
So let's say someone’s life is very unusual?

 

Share good stories, videos, and pictures. Guest post at various sites which cover topcis seen on your blog. Spend a lot of time interacting on social networks. The idea is to get your name in as many places as you can.

 

Well,just as you said,maybe real story can impress others.But I think it should happend in the precondition that
you have a moved or origin or interesting life experience.Or the readers will lose interest on it.By the way,seo is
important.Never overlook it.

 

Writing about random subjects makes it hard for you to choose the right affiliate to work with. It's better to focus on one niche and have ads dedicated to it.

 

What does specialize the blog? Why would people be intrested in it? Who is your target audience? I think that by asking yoursef these questions, you'll get closer to the answer.

You can make an account on Twitter with your blog site name! try to get active there! that can really make your private blog worthy in terms of promotion

 

Simple really. Time is precious, why should someone read your blog over Joe Bloggs Blog?

Answer this then your 3/4 of the way there.

ps. to give you a little push in the right direction, your looking for a unique view point.

 

If you have been online you would know that the guru will tell you to find something that is hot in the market and start promoting it. I guess you life story isn't that hot.

Find a product maybe affiliate product and insert ad sense so that you can earn money for clicks.

Make your posts interesting, and try social bookmarking for visitos

 

Find something that really interests you, but will also interest other people. It is funny to see people on Twitter posting about how they are wearing a new shirt, but really, very few people actually care about the new shirt. Post something worth reading!

 

You can always try adwords as a initial way to get good traffic. Though I would suggest not to use adsense on your blog.
