    Hi all,

So I have a tip for y'all AdSense users, coming directly from Google.

Basically yesterday I received this personalized message from AdSense staff:

So I implemented this right away yesterday = switched from 250x250 to 300x250 and adjusted site's width to account for it.

    Today the results are:

    +20% in CTR!!!!

All I can say is thank you Google, and I suggest y'all to check into this as well.

P.S. The original example page they linked to was https://www.google.com/adsense/supp...=aso&subid=na-en-et-20100218-100&medium=inbox and this is what helped me.

Well, I show more than 30k impressions a day on my sites network, so I suppose they thought it warranted some special attention.... although it also could've easily been some new automated tool they're testing (like the one that automatically tells Google Webmaster Tools subscribers about malware on their site).

Nevertheless, +20% increase in CTR for spending an hour to adjust the site and ad units is really ace. In my case it amounts for $XX increase in revenue per day, so kudos to Google for that.

That's awesome to increase a site's CTR with such an easy step! I've been using the 336x280 for a long time on all of my sites, wonder how 300x250 compares to 336x280 in CTR rates, I'm thinking the bigger the better but might have to run a split test on it.

Good tip from the big G.The reason as I see why they would help you with adsense is not only will you make a little extra money, but they will make a lot more money. So imagine if 10% of webmasters get a higher CTR.Big G will be making millions extra revenue and all that it will cost them is to send a few e-mails to webmaster who use adsense.

Hey, if y'all get some results with this - would you mind sharing by how much your CTR went up (if it did)?

It would simply be nice to have some combined stats and see how well that tip works for different sites.

Probably it's only me and all the other posters that did not know this. But hey, you learn something new every day.

As for TIPS - this WAS an ACTUAL tip from Google (that's how they called it - a tip). So if you're looking to pick a fight you can go and complain directly to Google.

Good to know, but I wonder why they don't recommend the large rectangle? Maybe they have a lot of image inventory that fits into the 300x250 size, or maybe the 300x250 really is better than the large rectangle.
