My site is capricatimes.com, theirs is capricaseries.net. I'm interested in the keyword "caprica". I don't understand why they are higher than I am in the search listings. I have had the domain for an equal amount of time, I update daily (they don't). My keyword density for "caprica" is a little high but could that really break me? Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.
Just have caprica in your title then linke to your self with the caprica as your anchor text 3 times... That's teh secret sauce.
Your competitor could simply have more relevant links pointing to them. Maybe even with more relevant link text using the correct keyword/keyphrase.
It's never ending here! That search is as easy as taking candy from a baby to rank for markzero other than your never ending page load time what's your problem? (well other than all the missing SEO as well of course)
This is all very helpful, thanks. I didn't even consider the load time (it loads pretty quickly for me but with a slight lag which I understand can be horrendous on other computers). I was also planning on trying to get more links but I believe we're about even on that.
think offsite factor... get endorsement from influential sites and you will be able to outrank your competitors.. seo is like real world PR..
Not really. @OP - Improve your on page SEO (add more keyword density that your targetting + Page Title) and you will need more backlinks anchored with your preferred targeted keyword.
I did not open both of the sites. But generaly the reason could be: - Their domain is older (more trust) - They have more releted links pointing to their site - They have a better keyword density - You have 'bad links' pointing to your site I could continue the list..but check out these points first
yes PR, Google Crawl, Popularity and keywords are not use to SEO ways that's why you facing this prob
looks like you are not targeting "caprica" when it comes to backlinks. they do. basically, you used the wrong anchor.
first the content of the page you must keep the more related keywords in the page and submit your page to google bot.
It could be the data center. On MY Data Center you actually rank right above them. However both sites are on page 3 which is the same as if you were on page 1 million. So why are you worried about it? you need to get at least to page 1.
For me they display at the top of Page 2 while I'm at the top of Page 3. Page 1 will be hard to accomplish as it's mostly media and publication sites that have been around for a very long time and hold high google esteem. But as of now they are the highest "normal" site for that keyword. I've taken action on some of the suggestions here - I just hope within a few months I can see some positive changes.
Yeah I agree with the others on this, just in your title, its way too long and if your looking to target specific keyword, remove all other words and just put in Caprica. Also, I hate to admit it because I hate to do it myself, but build backlinks with the right anchor is the way to go as well.
