Hi, I have made a few funny Youtube videos. One of them is a short 2 minute prank call that I made. I have recieved tons of views in the last year, in fact I recieved over 1 million views in one year. My question is simple, how can I turn those views into money? Youtube offered me Adsense, and the clicks are there....but the money is very minimal at $1 or $2 per day. I would like to put an affiliate link in the video description...but I am having trouble deciding what would be the best item/product to promote for the "prank call" niche. Can anyone give me some advice?
If you ever saw southpark and 'youtube' millionare clip, you'll see that paper millions aren't worth anything. Many youtube guys have millions of views (raywilliamjohnson) but don't really make much $ at all. Conversion rates aren't great and even selling internal products like tshirts doesn't move too well (I worked with viral marketing before).
I agree, that's why I haven't gave it any thought since now! Do you think it would make more sense for me to push a clickbank product, or to link to a website (that I can make) that would sell a CD of say 20 prank calls? If I went with my own CD (which I actually already sell well on Ebay) do you know if there is a way to for the purchaser to be able to download it somehow instead of me mailing them a physical CD? How would I set that part up...I am a complete newbie in terms of selling downloads!
sell display on impression CPM base.. look for sponsor to put their logo on where your avatar is... entertainment website is notoriously poor for CPC.. that is not surprise at all... what you are getting is about right $0.6 CPM ...
Try 123Spoof's affiliate program. It allows you to call anyone from any number. This is great for a prank call. You can join their affiliate program through PepperJamNetwork and they pay 20% per sale.
