I've heard that Article Submission is the way to go for SEO stuff... What is the best way to go about the whole process?

Best to have a service write the articles for you and submit them?

or to write them yourself and have them submit?

or to do it all yourself?

what are some good, reputable companies that offer these services?

 

Either or. probably best to write them yourself if you are working for a well-known client then outsource submission.

Well, if you are a good writer and you have knowledge about it then you should do it by your own self. But, if you are not good in that then there are many professional who can do this job easily.

 

I prefer writing my own articles - no one can FULLY get what you are thinking about a topic - only you.

how you will do it totally depends on you. some write and submit their own, some get the entire writing and submission outsourced. if you can write and submit yourself, then you dont have to pay or depend on anyone. but if you are submitting lot of articles to lot of directories, then it might get very time consuming in the long run

You could do it yourself.
Try to write an article, then use different format, different order of sentences, change the font or use some new words, so one article would turn into 5 more articles, then choose some articles submission sites to submit it.
and leave a link which directly to the place you want people to see, not only just the main page.

Article writing can work as part of an overall plan although I agree with other posters here... write them yourself if you have time since you know your niche better than an generic article writer. Quality attractive articles do much better than generic ones offering little benefit to the reader. If you have a blog on your site use that to post your articles on aswell as you may get some free links back if your articles are decent and get republished elsewhere. Then preferably rewrite them to submit to other article directories or get them published on other related blogs.
