    Hi,

While accessing my WordPress account, I suddenly faced a problem today which is new to me. I had installed a couple of themes in my blog and while checking them out (How will they look on my blog), the site suddenly went off. Since then, each time I am trying to open my website, its not opening and only a blank white page is shown. I use GoDaddy Linux Deluxe hosting and only this single site is hosted from that account. The domain and hosting is far away from expiry date.

Can anyone suggest me what to do?

    Thanks & Regards.

You should restore last backup version of your site, you can do it in hosting panel.

You can also try renaming the theme folders that you just uploaded, it should go back to the default theme and might bring your site back.. especially the last theme that you 'activated'.. try that one first.

Thanks a lot. The site is now running again.

Tried, but failed. May be because, I was doing it incorrectly.

My browser won't allow me to access this site. It says it is not safe.

Glad to hear that you got it back up and running :)

Maybe you upload themes differently than me.. I do it via FTP not from within Wordpress, so to rename them, I login to FTP again and browse to /public_html/wp-content/themes/ and in there, is a list of the themes I uploaded, so I can rename the folder there.

Do you upload themes via wordpress or ?

I guess you can also do it from your control panel with GoDaddy although I've never had an account with them so not sure how to direct you. (Like through something that will be called "File Manager" or similar)

I'm only wanting to explain how to do it because it could easily happen again, it's happened to me many times over the years from a theme not happy (incompatible) with a plugin, or a theme that requires you to enable certain plugins before activating the theme, or themes that are in desperate need of an update.. etc.. and you shouldnt need to restore from backup because of a theme. Ouchies, but glad you got it all back up!

Thanks a lot for your important advice. I really appreciate it. Yes, I am new to this hosting thing and obviously I need helps from pro like you. I will keep in mind what you said. By the way, I install themes via Wordpress but I also know how to do it via GoDaddy. May I know which hosting account you use? I mean from where did you buy one?
