Submit your site to Google...Create group or fan page on Facebook..Promote your site with signature what ever you can Example: E-mail, Facebook profile, myspace, twitter, etc...list go on...Write free press release...You can do so much to get quickly indexed in Google... Create a sitemap for your website and submit the sitemap in google web master tools,to yahoo sitemaps etc
Create yourself a google webmaster tools account and submit a sitemap. Besides that, do some link development, like forum signature links. Have you done any research on the domain name? Is there a chance that it belonged to a spammer and has been banned from google? You might want to go to archive.org and see if you can find the site. Maybe that can give you a clue as to what the sites past history is. Also, by having a google webmaster tools account, you will be able to see if you have any backlinks. Checking out those backlinks might give you a clue as to what the previous owner did. Check out the site with Yahoo Site Explorer, you might be able to get some information from there as well.
