Site completely dissapeared from google

Discussion in 'Google' started by Karel, Feb 16, 2010.

I have a site that has been at or near the top of google for a long time now, it is probably the largest site in the u.k on it's subject. Yesterday all trace of the site dissapeared, no search terms or anything bring it up unless you put the exact url in, it is also reading text from the site and not what I put in the description like before. Now my host have had the site down for 24 hours and 12 hours, the latest on Sunday, could this be the reason as I have done nothing else that could have upset them, it's making a massive difference to visitors and sales.

If it is this then that's fine, if it's anything else how would i find out what?

    Thanks for any help

being down for 24 hours shouldn't cause that; unless you are banned for some other reason.

Well I have done nothing wrong or made no recent changes, the site was down twice in a week, is there anyway I can find out if google have banned me? The site will show up if I write it in full with the .co.uk and www. otherwise nothing.

Wait for a couple of days, maybe your site was just put into the sandbox

Maybe better give your site fresh update plus backlinks to invite spiders to crawl your site and hope everything will be restored...

Why don't you ping your site using pingler, pingomatic, etc. This will invite search engines to crawl your site.

Ping your site a few times with Google to get the bot to visit and you will soon get your positions back. The bot probably tried to index your site when it was down.

I guess Google is playing with "caffeine filters" now... so, we all simply have to wait ....

    Resubmit your XML SiteMap.

Ping you RSS via Ping services.

If your site is still in the index, then you weren't banned. Google's algos change often, and this could either be a "hicup" or the site has some penalties. I would wait a few days and see if it returns to normal. You can't afford to panic when it comes to Google.

Is it the yourbeautystore.co.uk site? if it is you need to get some links going to it (it currently only has about 4 according to siteexplorer), no wonder the homepage has been dropped out of the results.

Sounds like you are in the mythical sandbox. Slow down your link building, or make it consistent.
