You need to have good reputation in AB to get dofollow links. Just submit 10 good articles in submitted status and e-mail them. They will make all the links to dofollow. This happened with my article writer.

This is a noteworthy point.

a day will come and all those article directories will be no follow and than my site ranking will go down...

I think that no follow really makes a hard time on everyone.

The other two links are in the box where you can copy the article and paste the contents onto your site. So if the article gets syndicated then in theory you should then gain a followed link.

The only clickable links on the page to the author's site are nofollow. The two links you are referring to are wrapped in Javascript code so they won't pass Pagerank to the author's site.

The below code info is taken from the noted article on Articlebase.

Jonathan Blood Smyth, editor of the Physiotherapy Site, writes articles about <a rel="nofollow" onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.thephysiotherapysite.co.uk">Physiotherapy</a>,
Code (markup):
Notice the nofollow tag? I put it in bold so its easier to spot.

BUT if the article is placed on another site it DOES NOT have the nofollow tag installed (check the code in the syndicate box).

This member is correct and as others have noted AB articles get very highly ranked. Mine bring me long term human traffic. They also allow 6 links and approve articles instantly for established members.

By contrast, dealing with the ezine submission process and wait time is tedious and not enjoyable.

Having a few /nofollow links in your backlink set is not necessarily a bad thing. You want your link profile to look natural. With over 10% of the links on the Internet now /nofollowed, Google will likely penalize you if 100% of your links are do-follow.

It is bullshit, ArticlesBase is nofollow and I had been submitting to them for awhile. So was SearchWarp, and I recently found out ArticleAlley went nofollow, and they used to be one of my main directories I had been submitting to for years. It is sad, sad...

No Follow's aren't cool, but hey to each his own. I still submit there on occasion as they approve fast and I do it for the informational purposes more than SEO.

Yeah Article Base has nofollow links. Their articles do rank OK in Google (not as high as Ezine Articles though). I get some traffic from them but it is maybe a tenth of my EZA traffic.

Ezine articles is no follow in the article but the resource box is do follow...So I would say that this is the same for most article sites...

The big thing to measure is how much traffic do you get from an article site... I posted one article that really hit the top of the list on articlebase and got great traffic from it....

What's wrong with that?

True true. Getting a link back to your website is just ONE of the benefits of posting an article to an article directory. Don't forget about the traffic!
