What a typically hateful "Christian" thing to say. Funny, I just finished posting about how the religious don't actually believe in what they claim and how it's all talk, it's nice of you to come and prove my point.

Right, but that's not the same as taking responsibility.

I encounter a lot of Americans who say stupid things but I don't always speak out against them on the grounds that I share responsibility for their actions simply because we share membership to the same group.

With that type of thinking, we all become responsible for each other because we are all part of the human race.

Collectivism fails. I've heard you say it before: we're adults now, let's take responsibility for our individual actions.

 

I'm talking about responsibility in the sense of "The obligation for the proper custody, care, and safekeeping of property".

Atheists are no more a collective than people who like the colour blue are. Atheists share one common opinion, and generally differ on many. We have no rules, no tenets and no positions of authority. Atheists just happen to share one opinion and the word "atheist" just happens to be the word used to describe that opnion.

 

Indeed, people kill people with or without religion. Religion just gives them an excuse, without it they'd soon find some other reason to.
