Promt a Crawl

    Dear DP,

I have done some SEO work for a friend of mine to an old website that has never once been updated.

I am 100% confident once google crawl the site again it will rank it number 1 for its keywords (from not even top 10 page) but because it has never been updated, google's crawl rate very very slow.

Since I have done my work too it, Yahoo and Bing have both crawled it and ranked it number 1 for that keyword but its been around 3 weeks and still no google crawl.

The site has a fairly good amount of backlinks, probably around double the amount of any competitors on page 1.

Anyway, all I need is one google crawl, 1!!!

Is there anything I can do to prompt this quicker???

I have been on-going link building so its not lack of authority.
I have pinged the site on ping-o-matic etc.

    Any ideas?

Nice to hear all what you have done for your site. Same scene was with one of my websites when i re-launched it with new content and re-optimized pages. The site was not crawled for almost 25 to 27 days. Then i tried a test of adding my site to some of the top sites on which crawl rate is very high like Digg, Delicious, Facebook Pages and some news feed sites.
This really helps. I suggest you should add your link in Digg and Twitter with proper keywords and hopefully your site would be crawled with 24 to 48 hours. Once crawled, Google will set up your next crawl period, based on the priority settings you have for your pages in sitemap.xml.

Yeah do a lot of bookmarking and if possible make a blog on blogspot or wordpress and link your site pages with the blog and update the blog twice or thrice in a week.
