My blog is not loading as quickly as I like. Google webmaster tools tells me that it takes 5.9 seconds to load and that it's slow. What plugin is recommended for speeding up the blog?
    my blog is pulseontech.com
    Thanks!

The plugin is safe, but not recommended for high traffic blogs, based on my personal experience

Its safe to run in normal mode. Lockdown mode is advised only for high traffic spikes. But you have to specifically enable lockdown mode and as always you should test the plugin with your site first.

Super cache is no where near the best.

I personally recommend w3 total cache. It allows you to combine and compress all of your css, and js, advanced cachheing, and easy implementation of a cdn.

You may also want to consider using firefox plugin yslow along with firebug to spot errors.

Uninstall and delete all unneccesary or unused plugins

    Compress your images

Limit your themes php calls for things that can be made static

    Use css sprites

There is a pretty good starting point for ya ;)

Thanks for the input-my blog is no where near the point of being a high traffic blog as it is new. Of course I'm working on it tho!

Good choice. Super cache is a nightmare anyways. You will be much happier and get better results with the methods I mentioned.

I didn't do anything to change the default settings as I don't want to screw it up. It seems to be loading quicker now anyways!

wp_super_cache is one of (if not the ) most popular cache plugins. So its going to get detractors just from the sheer number of people using it. You will have a hard time finding the best since its pretty much subjective. Install one and move on.

I am just going to express one last time. W3 toatal cache is better, providezs superior caching, along with more advanced techniques that super cache will never be able to match. The only reason super cache is popular is ease of use.

I am not sure if you are going to believe me or not, but you don't need anything, not even any plugin on your blog to make faster than it is! it's supper fast the way it is, give your self more time to read more about this, maybe you will need to do this work latter when your blog grows!
