I started my own membership site during the Summer. It has only started to pick up now... Almost half a year later. Has there been times when I doubted myself and thought I should quit? Yes! But I'm glad I stayed through it because slowly but surly, it's now starting to pay off.
I started my IM career in 2008 and I lost everything I made from proxy websites. I left that field later in the year and re-started in 2009 after properly researching my market and product. I do good now

Started Blue Ice Web Design Limited nearly two years back, first year was a real struggle to market and try to get all project work done at the same time. But somehow I managed to find the hours to do it all albeit late nights and early mornings, but it is now starting to pick up and have recently added to our list of services. It is hard work and but would recommend it, all the best.
Well, my good friend makes about $1000 or more per day, and he's the one who brought me into the world of affiliate marketing. I make about a tenth of that, but it's growing all the time. We just launched a new site, and the time we spent working on it was simultaneously exciting and frustrating. WAAAAY more exciting than my day job! Anyways, I'd say the number one thing I've learned is patience. Things don't always work out if you keep at it, but the DEFINITELY won't work out if you give up right away.

Agreed. There is always more to learn. But the best way to learn is just to go out there and DO IT! Nothing will give you more valuable experience quicker.
One recent story I heard from a friend when marketing his company was to create a twitter contest and offer a prize people want. Key part to making it successful is to request that a person have to FOLLOW FIRST then retweet.
