I have an article that's more than 7000 words. What the best method to put it online for SEO? Should I put it on a single page or on more separated pages?

7000 word article? Holy cow. That's nearly a book:)

I'm a wordy guy myself but even I know my limits. I would pair it down to less than 1,000 words. Most people won't even read that long of an article.

If you can't do that, then I would break the article up into "Parts." Then at the bottom of the page you'd have a link to "Part 2" and then at the bottom of that page you'd have a link to "Part 3" and so on.

Whewwww... An article with 7000 words... Call it a book instead.

If you are considering doing SEO for your articles, then I might suggest the same thing as tvanslooten told you.

Divide your article into parts. When there are several parts/pages of your article, it is easy for people to consider reading it and also you can easily optimize all parts of your articles.

    Good luck,

at 7,000 words, if it's keyword targeted, that could be good for seo. However, you don't
want just SEO, you want people to actually read it..so I agree with some of the suggestions
here to place part 1..part 2..

or you can break it down into several sub topics..still maintain it in a single page but add pictures
for every subtopic so as to make it readable..if it's all pure text blocks..you'll get irritated
    readers for sure..

Break your article up into logical themed pages. Then use an appropriate title to describe each unique page. I've seen a variety of practices in this area. I go for the uniqueness of each page and therefore will make sure everything is different. And then I'll use the link rel="" elements to bring them all together. ;)

I find I have to do less 'work' to get the longer articles indexed. I've had a few just start popping up to the top without any direct backlinking. The shorter articles usually need some BL Juice, but yes I don't know if its fact, but the 'big' articles I do tend to do very well for me SERP and Commission wise.

    Nice suggestion!

People don't like to read lengthy articles so why not break it to 7 articles. I think people will become interested if you will keep them hanging.

Ok, but check this: stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/05/how-to-make-money-from-your-blog/. It's more than 7300 words.. do you think it would be better on more separated pages?

    Hi,
I think article should be short and based on quality information. Peoples don't have too much time to read lengthy articles.

I'd say break it into relevant parts, publish them and link them accordingly on your site. Maybe make it a guide sort of thing :)

Try to submit this article by parts because no site will accept such a article like this. So you have to split this articles and then submit.

break up those pages, absolutely. you can create a section on your website, then create links to each chapter using keywords. you can get several rich pages of keyword focused content all inter-linked.

Wooshhhhhh.. that much long article.. i dont think this is an article, even i do write it but i never crossed a limit of 1000. Anyways you can better logically divide it into smaller articles and then submit it to articles directories and do divide it on the basis of keyword density..

That's way too long. You should cut that thing up into at least 10 mini articles. Maybe even 15.

nobody will ever read a 7000 words article. when writing articles, you can focus on topics and write on them. there is no need to get an article that long, you can seperate the articles in several 400-600 words parts and post them individually. if you are posting the article on your site, then write a series of articles on a topic. if yoy are publishing them on article sites, then never do any more than 500 words articles
