I've been set about the task of finding an effective online tool that can be used to track the rankings of network of websites - any suggestions/ reviews?

Looked in Google but the results weren't great.

He didn't talk about tool he said you can choose advance search option in Google and check manually. I think you should try Google analytic and Google webmaster Tool is good one and it's showing your ranking in Google and keywords as well, But through this you can only see Google ranking.

Actually, it is not that interesting to know where I rank, it is much more interesting to know which keywords make me profits (and which ones do not). Google Analytics is an almost ideal tool to learn that. Stick for it if you haven't before.
