Im looking to spend a little bit of money building some good quality relevant links and am unsure whether to go for a yearly homepage text link on PR4,5 or 6 or to pay for a blog post. Obviously a blog post is a little cheaper and permanent but it wont be on as high PR to start. What are your suggestions or recomendations?
The yearly homepage will give you the max benefit, but it will most likely look like a paid link by Google. Paying for a blog post will have less benefit and most likely look more natural - and you should be less likely to get penalized.
there is no fixed rate for such links. some might think a blog post on their PR2 blog worths $40 where others might sell blogposts on PR4 blogs for $10 or so. yearly homepage link on PR6 site will cost you a small fortune given that its a legit site and not some dropped domain site that was quickly converted to blog in an attempt to sell links capitalizing on its existing PR (like most the links are being sold on BST forum these days). whatever you buy, make sure you are buying from quality site/blog.
homepage text link is much better but remember to buy text link which are related to your site content, is`s very important

P - please be careful with that. A high PR link can be over rated. For example let's take the NWF link I mentioned I would like to get you once those page 3 things have risen (I am referring to the WF and WFs terms), that would be of more value due to relevance than any PR5/6 link, and I doubt NWF have a high PR.
