One of my squidoo lens was getting 1400 visitors per day, 3 days back it has dropped by various ranking position from google. Lens was pretty stable for last couple of months, and I have not tried any blackhat or greyhat method for link building. Current scenario is, 1)Sqidoo Lens is still indexed. 2)Ranking has dropped significantly. From position 2 to second page. 3)Visitors are dropped from 1400 a day to 200 a day. Most of the visitors are coming fro referring sites. Now I am confused, Is it a google dance or google has penalized me?
I can say that you are certainly not penalized. Unsure if its a Google Dance but i'd say, start building links quickly. Its very difficult to retain the first spot without consistent linkbuilding. I wont be surprised if it falls to even lower positions consequently.
I don't think lens has been penalized. By how many positions have you dropped? Were you working on lens, or you stopped working on it after rankings were stable?
Does it mean that I can gain the ranking back? mixke, I have dropped by 15 position for my main keyword, and to be honest with you I had stopped working on the lens after the rankings were stable. Now the case is in front of you, what can I do to get back those rankings?
Yes ofcourse Don't you expect a drop when you stop working while having competitors who continue to work? Well, I'd say start with the good work which you were doing earlier. See what improvements your competitors have made, do analysis, and get to work to get back the rankings.
I have read someone that Google has been pretty unpredictable the last week so I agree that it is that. Well done for all those visitors BTW - My squiddo lens has had 34 visitors in six months.
This depends on how you work, and how your competitors work. It's all relative. If you see any improvement, this means you're working fine. I'd also like to add don't panic if you lose a few more positions. Just start working on the site smartly and see where you rank after a week or two. Good Luck!!
