Does anyone actually make money online?

I have been looking into realistic ways to make some (moderate) income for quite some time now. I use these forums as a resource to gather information and hopefully finally make that breakthrough.

I have purchased a variety of e-books from the buy/sell forum with methods claiming you can make $X.XX/day and yet everything I get seems to be poorly written, and more of a theory than a tried and true method. This is frustrating to me, because all the replies and reviews in those threads are always positive and it seems like everyone is making money. Everyone except me of course!

So, for my own sanity I ask you all this. Does anyone actually make any money online? Is it an insignificant amount, moderate amount, or large amount?

Of course, I would love any suggestions as well, but I am more concerned with just knowing some numbers.

Yes. Many people make money online. However, not everyone can say they work FULL TIME online.

I started out in 97 after college. I did a celebrity site for me as a hobby, and the net was a bit different back then. When it changed to a pay to play format late 90's, I switched to a membership model. It was nice making a few extra grand a month while working for the phone company.

Over that time, I learned and dabbled in many other things while still working in telco. Eventually, I started shooting my own content and did a clip store, late launching pay sites. I then left telco and been doing online full time ever since.

Here are some tutorials on some things I have done, and how you will actually make money and get a ROI. They will work much faster than many other ways people recommend on the boards, and you do not have to wait years to recoup your investment. Nor put in 18 hour work days trying to do shit free.

Yes! I am making money in online business but I'm not selling any programs or having my own websites. I just do my task as an SEO specialist.

    Here is a true figure...

I've spent $600 on hosting in one year (yes for alot of sites in diffrent niches) and only made $200. Making a loss of this year $400. Next year however i plan to be even with the $600 or more and than making more money then it costs to host :p

There are plenty of people making money online but you won't find them selling ebooks. If they have a method that works, they'll keep it to themselves so as not to damage their own profits by saturating it.

I use CPAlead and it has a chatroom on the frontpage when you log in and sometime it tells stats of how well people are doing. I've seen people make 2-4k a day! It'll say like "jimbo has earned $3,594.54 so far today with 39485 clicks and 29848 leads" lol

    just amazing..

Don't believe in ebooks. They might help a little bit into getting creativity, but if you want a super website, the idea has to come from you -- not from an ebook ;)

I'm currently making money through Adsense, Adversal, Smowtion and Signature Link Sales.

It isn't too difficult to earn money online, it just takes time and effort :D

Many times people fail to make money online because they lack the patience to see their work through to becoming successful. Stop giving up, before you have given it your best effort.

Ebooks are a GUIDE. Not a blueprint.

No one is going to give you the winning lotto numbers. However, they can always teach you ways, via their experience, to increase your odds of success. Online business is like any other business. It is a gamble. Just like blackjack.

There is a guide and strategy for blackjack and making money. There are guides for making money online. Part of it is routine, patience and luck.

I "made" about $100 or maybe even $150 during last year, mostly from adsense.
I heard that eBay is making good money on the net, and a couple of other companies too. So some people actually go very well on the net.
I see you are on DP since 06? You mean you didn't make any money at all during 4 years? Then something must be completely wrong with your way... I think it is better to stop reading ebooks, sorry.

Those people that sold you the ebooks made some money. Lol

Seriously, I see very few people who actually make decent money online and I see thousands upon thousands that are full of pure BS.

There are a lot of people on DP that make money selling a fantasy of making money. And if you live in a cheap country I guess $5-$10 a day is enough to keep hustling, If you live in Europe or the states that not even enough for lunch.

"Buy this ebook and make $$$$$. A day". So if you make $$$$$. A day why do you spend hours on DP try to scrounge $5-$10?

People who are making real money try to stay hidden and just keep making money because if people find out their technique they will copy it a thousand times over and now the market is flooded or the big guys will come in with big money and developers take over you playing field. Game over.

Exactly. And people should always be smart enough to buy good ebooks. I'd rather buy an ebook that teaches me how to earn a steady 25$ per day with working 3 hours a day over an ebook that teaches me how to earn 5000$ in 2 hours :D

I used to buy these stupid ebooks from the last type, but now I got much more knowledge. And I'm glad I got it :p

Correct. The first question to ask anyone giving you advice or 'hot tips' would be..... "Do you work online full time, and for how long?"

This right there is one of the most important questions to cut through the bullshit. If they knew as much as they claimed, they would be doing online full time. The end.

Next, the web is always changing. Ebooks would be almost out of date by the time they went to press. Just like books in a book store. While some methods will always be advantageous, the 'gold rush' period to most new ideas will last for a spell and tapper off.

    First rule of business:
    "The only constant is change."
